White House dismisses ‘climategate’

I haven’t commented on the “Climategate” investigation because I’ve been waiting to see how far it would go. And, unfortunately it seems to be going about as far as Obama’s birth certificate investigation.

Here’s the latest from the White House Press Secretary:

“In the order of several thousand scientists have come to the conclusion that climate change is happening… I don’t think that any of that is, quite frankly among most people, in dispute.”

Here’s the problem I see with this whole thing; we (meaning those pushing 40 and younger) have been force fed this malarkey for 30 years or more. We all remember pictures of the Statue of Liberty obscured by scaffolding; we all remember Ying and Yang, Ping and Pong, or whatever those panda’s names were; we’ve heard about the ozone hole; we’ve all done crafts in 3rd grade about that particular species of lizard that’s now extinct because of deforestation; we’ve all been forced to read Walden, participate in recycling activities, or take part in some 10th grade fuel experiment; we’ve all watched The Day After Tomorrow, and had it explained to us three ways to Sunday how global warming can cause the next ice age. The environmental movement, with the aid of Congress, Hollywood, the NEA, Greenpeace, The Sierra Club, and many others have propagated information to the point where now it is settled science.

Disagree? Is Roe v. Wade settled law?

The WSJ can publish another 3,000 or 50,000 emails detailing how science has been manipulated, misconstrued, or even made up, and it’s not going to change one thing; Obama will still go to Copenhagen, the UN will pass it’s climate change initiative, and Congress will pass cap and trade, and other legislation will follow. These organizations seized long ago on an opportunity to rob us of our money and our freedom, and it’s going to take a lot more than an email scandal to turn the tides.

Political correctness – the new 9-11

Pamela Gellar, like many others, says “political correctness is going to rout this country,” and she’s right, but that’s not the worst part.  We can’t say the crazed lunatic who shot up Fort Hood yesterday was a jihadist, that’s being stereotypical, that’s profiling, that’s not being tolerant, it’s true, but it’s giving way to hate speech.

According to NPR, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, was put on probation while at the Uniformed Service University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD for proselytizing about his Muslim faith with patients and colleagues. Apparently, the authorities knew he was an extremist six months ago, but didn’t act on the information in fear of religious and community repercussions – political correctness.

Director Roland Emmerich of Independence Day and Day After Tomorrow fame, elected to not destroy an Islamic icon is his new movie 2012. “I will not have a fatwa on my head because of a movie.” We are remember the last fatwa that was issued by Osama bin Laden in 1998 and called for Muslims to execute Americans and their allies. Emmerich went on to say, “We have to all in the Western world think about this. You can actually let Christian symbols fall apart, but if you would do this with [an] Arab symbol, you would have a fatwa, and that sounds a little bit like what the state of this world is.” We don’t care about the Christians, but we has be careful of the mullahs.

And yet another example of the dangerous political correctness is the UN resolution on hates crimes that the US cosponsored with Egypt. I can only imagine how those highly respected countries on the Human Rights Council will reprimand Iran and Syria when they again call for Israeli elimination or Zionist destruction.

There is no need for Al Quaeda to fund another mass hijacking or risk sneaking in a dirty bomb, political correctness is the new 9-11. When a killer like Major Hasan can historically make extremist remarks glorifying other attackers, empty out his apartment, and execute 13 soldiers at a military installation in Texas while shouting “Allah Akbar,” and the President and FBI say it’s not terrorist related, then the enemy just needs to sit back and watch the absurdity.

Quietly bartering away the Bill of Rights

In his ‘Opening Argument‘ piece, Stuart Taylor describes how three weeks ago the US State Department quietly and subtly, albeit arguably, traded away our right to free speech. Apparently, in his masterful conciliation to Islamic states, Obama partnered with Egypt to draft a UN resolution that admonishes what the UN determines to be religious and racial stereotyping and mandates to all nations “that relevant national legislation complies with … international human rights obligations.”

According to Steve Groves of the Heritage Foundation, the resolution is nothing more than a crackdown on criticizing Muslims.

The U.S. government has spoken out strongly against the “defamation of religions” effort at the United Nations. The next U.S. Administration should oppose the further promulgation of “defamation of religions” at the U.N. and must resist any attempt to legitimize the concept within the United States. Given the penchant of some federal judges—including justices on the U.S. Supreme Court—to rely on the decisions and opinions of international courts and organizations, the “defamation of religions” effort at the United Nations must be confronted.

From National Journal

It was nice to hear Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton say on October 26, “I strongly disagree” with Islamic countries seeking to censor free speech worldwide by making defamation of religion a crime under international law.

But watch what the Obama administration does, not just what it says. I’m not talking about its attacks on Fox News. I’m talking about a little-publicized October 2 resolution in which Clinton’s own State Department joined Islamic nations in adopting language all-too-friendly to censoring speech that some religions and races find offensive.

The ambiguously worded United Nations Human Rights Council resolution could plausibly be read as encouraging or even obliging the U.S. to make it a crime to engage in hate speech, or, perhaps, in mere “negative racial and religious stereotyping.” This despite decades of First Amendment case law protecting such speech.

Obama poised to cede US sovereignty on climate change

I am not sure why this surprised me the way it did. After all, didn’t the apostle John have a “revelation” about these things? Lord Christopher Monckton, former advisor to Margaret Thatcher and climate change anti-Al Gore, gave a speach at Bethel University last week. In that speech, he warned of the consequences of the UN Climate Treaty to be signed in December in Copenhagen.
